Egg Freezing - Ovarian Tissue Banking

If you are experiencing a decline in your ability to produce eggs due to your biologic clock, you may consider cryopreserving your eggs (freezing for future use). We are one of the very few centers in the world that offers this leading-edge technology, which has been approved by the Institution Review Board (IRB). Embryologist, Jeff Boldt, Ph.D., at Community Hosptial North, pioneered and patented the process and has been very successful in preserving the eggs, so that a woman can achieve a viable pregnancy on her own timeline. This process preserves the better quality of your "younger" eggs so that at a future date, sperm may be used to inseminate your eggs to help you produce your own genetic child.

This process, along with ovarian tissue banking, is also applicable to young women who are faced with malignancy and are advised to undergo chemotherapy or radiation. Since the chemotherapy or radiation treatment may result in sterility due to inability to produce eggs, eggs or ovarian tissue may be banked for future use before treatment for cancer begins.
