Infertility Support Groups
Infertility often affects your relationship with others, how you feel about yourself, and life's perspectives. Most couples have a support system with family and friends, but sometimes the stress of not being able to conceive becomes unbearable. If you feel depressed, anxious, or so preoccupied with your infertility that it affects all aspects of your life, professional counseling may be helpful to you. You may wish to consider this especially if you are feeling more isolated, sad, have a change in appetite or marital discord. Please ask Dr. McLaughlin or his staff to refer you to a compassionate, competent counselor to help you. At the Women's Specialty Health Center, we offer a support group, in the evenings, that by sharing experiences with other infertile patients, you may put your infertility into proper perspective. Our goal is to offer support to you, emotionally as well as medically, while you undergo this sometimes frustrating journey to parenthood.
